The Road to Super Bowl.
While many are still getting used to the idea of New England in yet another AFC championship game
instead of inside favorite San Diego, the bigger story perhaps is the Colts suddenly
stifling defense controlling everything that Baltimore threw at them.
The irony of having to play a road game in Baltimore made this match-up all the more interesting.
The purple and black clad Raven fans seem to have forgotten their heritage, and now the 'real' Colts
will be attempting to reach the Super Bowl for the first time since Joe Namath and the New York
Jets outlasted Johnny Unitas and company in Super Bowl III.
The Colts record in the playoffs is not the best, but this weeks Ross Ranking has them favored over all other teams to raise the Lombardi Trophy.
The Patriots did their part to throw a wrench in the works that had most expecting a Chargers vs. Bears Super Bowl, however Brady's Bunch has been here before and their experience showed in the clutch as the Chargers were not able to put New England away in spite of capitalizing on 3 picks off the veteran Super Bowler. Now the Patriots are sure to parlay this victory into a huge effort for a fourth title. Coach Belicheck knows what to do especially on the road. This time however, Peyton's Place will be among previous greats who have donned the coveted ring on their hand as a reminder that they lead their team to the top. Colts by a nose over the Pats.
Sure we all love the story that is New Orleans, and the region's recovery, but Chicago presents a much stiffer test than the Eagles did last week. Yes da' Bears are dinged up a bit, but do not expect that to be as big a problem as many might. Philadelphia's rush defense is ranked 26th while Chicago is 6th, and that makes for a much harder wall for Deuce McAllister to bust through. Look for the Windy city to be too much for the Big Easy in a bruising battle. Chicago sweeps Saints out of town.
