The Oakland Raiders emblem may tell a tale - crossed cutlasses that look as if they have been run through the neck of pirate player...heads might well start to roll.

So how does Norv Turner feel about his job security? Turner himself believes now is not the time to speculate and that it will sort itself out at the end of the season. No doubt...

The Raiders players have had to learn some tough lessons with a 4-10 record - the staff may have to learn some tougher ones in the near future.

Yet there doesn't seem to be an air of revolt or mutiny at the franchise - a different scene to the Joe Bugel and Bill Callahan departures. Turner appears to be popular and players have tried at least to play well.

Barry Sims summed it up well. "We've got to keep fighting to get out of this losing streak. I haven't thought things out much farther than that.."

..But deep down you've gotta feel that their job security is on all their minds.

It's clear that Randy Moss wants no part of playing with Terrell Owens.

"No, I'm not here," Moss said when asked how he would react if Owens were to join the Raiders. "I mean, T.O. could be good here with the Raiders but I don't think with his baggage and everything he's been through, and my baggage and what I've been through, I don't think that would work.."

Moss hasn't had much to say to the media since the season opener at New England. Moss promised early in training camp to go about his job with little show as possible, his desire was to make a fresh start following turbulant years at the Vikings.

Moss' team-mates have supported him, saying he is a good leader. However, Oakland aren't winning games with him - Oakland is 3-6 heading into Sunday's game against the Redskins.

Moss has five touchdowns and caught a 29-yard TD pass from Kerry Collins in Sunday's 31-17 loss to Denver. HIs six receptions in the game were his most catches since joining the Raiders.

In the last two games, the Oakland Raiders have dropped 'certain' interceptions, certain that is for any other football team. Nnamdi Asomugha had one bounce off his hands against the Chiefs and linebacker Kirk Morrison dropped one against Denver.
At the moment Oakland couldn't pick their own noses.

They have just two interceptions in nine games this season, ranking last with the Houston Texans, and neither of those were works of genius. Warren Sapp caught a Donovan McNabb deflection and the following week, with time nearly out at the end of the first half, Drew Bledsoe made a 'throw and hope' pass into the end zone which Charles Woodson intercepted.

The last Raider's player to intercept a pass and run it back for a touchdown was P.Buchanon in the third game of last season.

Oakland's defensive backs merely shrug their shoulders when asked about the issue, stating, with a certain degree of hope, that they often come in runs. Norv Turner, whose team has eight fumble recoveries, believes interceptions will come eventually.

"We had our hands on the ball," Turner said. "We are getting so much better in that area. In practice, we're getting to the ball and catching it. Nnamdi had one a week ago he didn't catch. Kirk had one. We're getting to the ball, and now we have to take the next step when you get the opportunity to catch the ball."
