Browns Moving Up

The Pittsbugh Steelers could be in for a shock if they think they will find a pushover team at Cleveland Browns Stadium on Saturday. They are still tryers despite their 5-9 record. Romeo Crennel has instilled a good attitude in the players

Last year Cleveland were beaten 42-15 by the New England Patriots in the 12th game. They went down to the Jaguars in the corresponding game this season - but had a shot at winning it. Game thirteen was lost by three points only to the Bengals. Game 14 resulted in victory over the Raiders.

Even though the Browns record needs work, there have been close games and things are getting better and they believe that they are heading in the right direction.

Browns' Edwards Ready

Braylon Edwards hasn't kicked up a fuss regarding the lack of opportunities he's had to play, through the first half of the season, but now he is beginning to make noises.

He believes the Browns could be more successful if he was given more of role. He would like the change to start Sunday when the Browns play the Dolphins at Cleveland Browns Stadium. Edwards has 17 catches for 294 yards.

"...the bottom line is I'm ready to make plays," he said. "I'm tired of being around when I know I can make a play and not being able to make that play. I can make plays. That's why I was drafted."

Edwards had a chance against the Steelers. He was open on the second possession of the game. The Browns were leading 7-0 and had quarterback Dilfer completed the pass, they could have had a 14-0 lead - but the pass was over-thrown.

There have been plays when Edwards is open but Dilfer doesn't see him because he locks to Bryant and Northcutt. Crennel said Dilfer and Edwards have rhythm in practice but admitted it does not carry over into games.

Dilfer said he and Edwards talked after the game against the Steelers to go over how they could develop chemistry faster. Dilfer said it just takes time. They continue to work on it.

Droughning Browns Sorrows

As if the Cleveland Browns didn't already have enough troubles - running back Reuben Droughns was arrested and charged with drink driving early on Tuesday morning.
Droughns was pulled over after a policeman spotted the 27-year-old speeding waywardly through northbound traffic on U.S. 42 outside Cleveland.

Droughns failed a field test and after agreeing to take a bloodal test at the patrol's Medina post, he registered a .08 - the state's legal limit. He was charged with driving a vehicle under the influence and speeding.

Droughns was released but is scheduled to appear in Medina County Municipal Court on Friday. If convicted on the DUI charge, Droughns could face up to six months in jail and a $1,000 fine.

Droughns has rushed for 530 yards from 125 this season.
