Season Could Be Over For McNabb
Donovan McNabb didn't have a great report from one of the leading hernia specialists on Thursday. After examining McNabb who is carrying a sports hernia, surgeon William Meyers said that McNabb should have surgery.
The Eagles released a statement on Thursday stating that McNabb is "weighing his options on the management of the injury." It was not revealed if immediate surgery was needed. McNabb was cleared back in September to play with the injury, although it was clear that surgery would be required at some point. That point may have been reached.
McNabb said he wasn't looking forward to undergoing a surgical procedure. "I will have the surgery, but it's pretty much a matter of when I will have it," McNabb said. "That will be the very first surgery I've ever had, so I'm not in a hurry to get under the knife. That's just part of being a human being. I don't think anyone is excited about having surgery."
Donovan McNabb has been officially ruled out for Sunday's game against the Giants. Mike McMahon will fill in. A lot of pressure will be on backup to move an Eagles offense which has had a tough time in recent weeks with McNabb leading.
The change might save Philadelphia's sub-par season.
